SABANGINFO.COM, SABANG - Sabang City received the Creative Regency/City award in 2022. The award was given directly by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to Pj Mayor of Sabang Reza Fahlevi, On the night of Friday (19/5).
Decrees and award plaques were given to Sabang and 8 other regencies/cities, in the activities of Vibrant Network District or City (Semarak Jejak) Creative Indonesia 2023, at Semarang Old Town Complex. From the occasion, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that through the 2023 Indonesian Creative JejaKK Lively activity, it is hoped that it can strengthen tourism networks and creative economies based on subsectors and regions that are more optimal.
In addition, it also increases the contribution of tourism and creative economy in the national economy, as well as building a sustainable tourism and creative economy ecosystem. Meanwhile, The Mayor of Sabang City said, Sabang City has officially become a national creative city in the field of Crafts. This achievement is expected to encourage the creation of new jobs after the Covid-19 Pandemic, especially in the creative economy and tourism sectors.
"This award is a form of our joint effort to increase employment or community business in the field of economy and tourism. In the future, we hope that Sabang can also develop wings in other creative economy fields such as fashion, foodies, etc," he said, Sunday (21/5).
The same thing was also conveyed, executing the task (Plt.City Tourism Office) Faisal Azwar, that this award is a good moment for Sabang City to continue to be enthusiastic about developing community creativity in the field of economy. He explained KaTa Kreatif is one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to explore, manage, and cultivate creativity and the local potential of districts or cities in Indonesia.
"The determination of Sabang City to be one of the 9 districts/National Creative Cities 2022 has gone through a long process, starting from registration, document upload, product videos and assessments by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Team since October 2022, which was prepared by the Sabang City Tourism Office," he added.[]
